This is a tribute page to George Denis Jones AKA DODI, Big Daddy, created by his family in his
loving memory and for those that knew him across the world.

A loving Dad, Grandad, Great Grandad, Uncle and Brother, you leaving us was unexpected and has left
a big void in the family. Many hearts were broken and we miss you so much, we still cry, we laugh
and we talk about you often. You are still and always will be the head of the family.

30 August 1919 - 17 September 2005

Beautiful service in a church in Wales many attended old solider's, boxers and your family and
friends from far and wide. The lads carried you in with pride to the sound of Rocky your boxing
anthem. A very difficult day but we did you proud. Tough old solider to the end never ever
complained and we did not realise how ill you where. You left us, we tried to bring you back but it
was not meant to be, we laid you to rest in perfect peace in Harden on top of a beautiful Welsh Hill
overlooking the countyside

You fought in World War 2 in the Welsh Dessert Rats, front line, gaining many awards for your
bravery, including the George Cross. Later living in Italy as a milotory Police Corporal.

You returned to Wales working at Welsh Steel works for 20 plus years until being made redundant with
half of Wales!

Well known across Wales as boxer DODI fighting many fights for the Welsh Boxing Club and for being a
bit of a hard man

Remembered by all for riding your bike topless and your many tatoos especially the large naked lady
on your right forearm!

You was a well known, loved and respected man in different places across the world and across Wales
and Manchester. You loved and lived for your family all your life, especially the grandchildren that
miss you terribly, you gave us everything you could ever offer all your life and devoted yourself
and life to protecting all your family. We will never forget you ever and will always respect and
treasure your memory for ever more.

Please feel free to leave a tribute if George was known to you or you just wish to pay your respects
and share some love and peace, the family will appreciate it.

We love and miss you more than words can say Big Man R.I.P. xxx

We all hurt when we lose our loved one's that mean so much to us,
so.........

Thought of today to keep and remember....

Too often we don't realise what we have until it is gone;
Too often we wait too late to say 'I'm sorry - I was wrong.'
Sometimes it seems we hurt the ones we hold dearest to our hearts;
And we allow foolish things to tear our lives apart.

Far too many times we let unimportant things into our minds;
And then it's usually too late to see what made us blind.

So be sure that you let people know how much they mean to you;
Take that time to say the words before your time is through.

Be sure that you appreciate everything you've got
And be thankful for the little things in life that mean a lot.

Those we love must someday pass,
Beyond our present sight,
Must leave us and the world we know,
Without their radiant light,
And in the realms of heaven,
Where they shine so warm and bright,
Our angels live forever,
In Gods eternal light. xxx

Sending Love

to you Gramps from us all on what would have been your 89th Birthday!

We stayed with you for a while today at your resting place on your hill it was so peaceful and the sun was shining. We planted some wildflower seeds at the foot of your headstone so you will have a mass of colour in a few months...or maybe next year.

love and miss you always Big Man, your loving family xxxxx

GIFTS OF SPIRIT

These gifts of spirit I bring you,
Each one is wrapped up with care,
Each one is very precious,
A present for all to share,

My first gift is of happiness,
To bring laughter to those in need,
To fill their hearts with gladness,
And love on which to feed.

My second gift is thoughts,
To send to those alone,
To those that have no families,
To those that have no home.

My third gift is of understanding,
For those of different faiths,
To understand their fellow man,
No matter what colour or race.

My forth gift is of peace,
That the world should be as one,
Where all should work together,
For together we all are strong.

My final gift is from Spirit,
A message that is loud and clear,
That your spirit is eternal,
That death holds no fear.

We Remember

We remember the son’s, who went to war,
We remember those son’s who we will see no more,
For all the children who were not born,
Because of the bodies that were ripped and torn,
We remember the families who gave their son’s,
Cut down in their youth, by man made guns.

How futile after all these years,
War is still with us, full of sorrow and its tears,
Let us not forget the loved ones, who cried,
As their sons died together, for death takes no side,
We must learn from the lessons of war,
Fighting and killing, should be no more.

Let us remember with pride,
Never to forget those son’s who died,
Life is like a flower; it grows from a seed,
We live on experience, that is all we need,
Wipe out the violence, the sorrow and pain,
Never to lose our son’s again.

So on this there special day,
Bow our heads and let us say,
Father, help us to see the light,
Guide our thoughts through out the night,
For all our loved one’s lost in war,
Give us the strength to fight no more.

Bless every son shot in battle today,
Your love and strength will show them the way,
Finally, Father, we ask you to show,
Your son’s on this earth, the way they should go,
Father, give us the knowledge for war to cease,
Therefore, the brother and brother can live in peace.
